(Hartford, CT, August 5, 2024) – The Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, Inc. (CCAT) announced today that it has entered a strategic partnership with Adia, Inc., a leader in additive manufacturing (AM), as part of the new Additive Manufacturing Training Program under CCAT’s Talent and Training Accelerator. The program, set to launch this fall, is designed to equip Northeast manufacturers with the skills needed to integrate AM into their advanced manufacturing workflows.

This partnership marks a significant step forward in workforce development, with a strong emphasis on advancing additive manufacturing in the region. According to CCAT, manufacturers will gain the skills necessary for additive workflows under the guidance of expert instructors, in collaboration with industry leaders like Adia and the U.S. Submarine Industrial Base.

“The formation of this partnership comes at a critical time, as our region recognizes the urgent need to accelerate the adoption of additive manufacturing technologies, processes, and practices,” said Ron Angelo, CCAT’s President & CEO. “Our collaboration with Adia will greatly enhance our ability to support U.S. manufacturing companies by providing advanced additive manufacturing training. This partnership represents a major step forward in strengthening our nation’s manufacturing capabilities and ensuring our workforce is prepared for the future.”

Together, Adia and CCAT are committed to developing comprehensive training materials and services focused on additive manufacturing. The partnership will also explore the requirements for an educational training laboratory dedicated to AM, with a particular focus on workforce development in Connecticut and the broader Northeast region.

CCAT has a long-standing relationship with Adia, having worked together for over 12 years to advance additive manufacturing in the state. This latest collaboration continues Adia’s commitment to helping Connecticut businesses move forward in AM by supporting initiatives that encourage the adoption and integration of this transformative technology.

“We’re excited to help Connecticut move forward in the realm of additive manufacturing,” said Greg Gondek, President of Adia. “Our partnership with CCAT is a testament to our shared vision of advancing AM education and equipping the workforce with the skills necessary to excel in this rapidly evolving industry.”
